TASA/TASB Honors 2006

The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) have honored Benjamin Franklin Elementary and Green Elementary in their awards program for excellence in school design. Both projects are in the San Antonio Independent School District. 2006

Volunteer of the Year Award

The United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County has honored Steve Souter with the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2006 for Individual Service. 2006

Named Largest San Antonio Architectural Firm

The San Antonio Business Journal has named Marmon Mok as the 2006 Largest San Antonio Architectural Firm. 2006

Franklin Elementary Wins Conservation Award

Benjamin Franklin Elementary School has received an award citation from the San Antonio Conservation Society. Located in the San Antonio Independent School District, the original Franklin Elementary consisted of an eight-room classroom building constructed in 1910. Over the course of time, numerous additions and renovations encompassed the historic building. Marmon Mok designed a new campus plan which removed all the additions, preserving the original building and establishing it as the centerpiece to a new academic complex. 2005

AGC Architect of the Year

Marmon Mok was honored by the Associated General Contractors of America (http://www.agc.org/) San Antonio Chapter as the 2005 Architect of the Year. 2005

Texas State University Rec Center

Texas State University selected Marmon Mok as architects for the 18 million dollar expansion of their Campus Recreation Facility. The program will include four gymnasiums, two pools and weight training area. 2005

San Antonio Airport Featured

The San Antonio International Airport Terminal One interiors project was featured in Texas Architect’s transportation issue. The article “Fresh on Arrival” provided an overview of the interior renovations and public art program. 2005
