Franklin Elementary Wins Conservation Award
Benjamin Franklin Elementary School has received an award citation from the San Antonio Conservation Society. Located in the San Antonio Independent School District, the original Franklin Elementary consisted of an eight-room classroom building constructed in 1910. Over the course of time, numerous additions and renovations encompassed the historic building. Marmon Mok designed a new campus plan which removed all the additions, preserving the original building and establishing it as the centerpiece to a new academic complex. 2005
